Hi! We are Grant and Shannon Wiens.

We are originally from Arizona (where a majority of our family still lives), and we moved to the amazing city of Chicago in December of 2017. 

​

We met online, with our first date in April of 2016. We moved in together about a year after we met, and were engaged in October of 2017. We were married on March 10th, 2019. 

Although we knew early in our relationship that we both wanted children, we wanted to take time to be sure we were established and secure in our relationship before growing our family. About 6 months ago we reached the place where we're ready to start the journey of adding children to our family. We will go into this a little deeper in our first blog post, but we ultimately decided to start the journey of growing our family through Adoption.  

We live what feels like a half a world away, but in reality we are a few thousand miles away from our Arizona family and friends. While we are in constant contact with our families, we decided to start this blog so that we can provide a space to keep our friends and family consistently updated with our adoption journey. We aim to keep this blog updated as much as we can, while respecting the sensitivities of adoption.

We are so excited (and a little bit nervous) to become parents to our future little one, and share this roller-coaster of a journey with our family and friends. Maybe someday we can share this journey with our future little one so he or she can know how excited, grateful and happy we are to become parents.
